Legendary Sarawak
Sarawak is the home of the Mythical Headhunters of Borneo and the rare helmeted Hornbills. Kuching, the capital is a blend of Christian, Muslim and Chinese Cultures. Visit Semenggoh Orangutan Wildlife Centre and Bako Natioonal Park with its famous pitcher plants and the long nosed Proboscis Monkey. The Sarawak Museum has one of the best collections of artifacts representing traditional lifestyles in South East Asia. Visit the Iban people at Lemanak River and or Batang Ai and stay in their traditional Longhouse.
Day 1: Arrive Kuching
You will be met on arrival at Kuching Airport and transfer to Kuching Waterfront Lodge for 2 nights.
Day 2: Bako National Park
Today we drive and take a boat to Bako National Park. This Park is made up of primary forest and there is a wide variety of flora and fauna to be seen. Insect eating plants and Umbrella palm can be found and many bird species have been recorded including black Hornbills. Wildlife includes proboscis monkeys, silver leaf monkeys, macaque, monitor lizard and wild boar. There are many mark forest trails you can follow to search for these animals and you will return to Kuching in the late afternoon. (B/L)
Day 3: Iban Longhouses
Today we visit Semenggoh Orangutan Centre to see some of the activities of the Orangutans before traveling by native longboat along the Lemanak River to visit Nanga Ngemah Iban Longhouse. Many Longhouses here are set on iron posts and contain several family rooms. The community is ruled by a headman and a council of elders and most Ibans are simple ciltivators of hill rice and pepper vines. In the evening enjoy a jungle feast and native dances. (B/L/D)
Day 4: Iban Longhouses
Today we begin our full day jungle trekking and having a bamboo picnic lunch by the river where food are mainly cooked in bamboo. We also learn from the native guide about some medicinal plants, edible fruits and leaves and the agricultural activities of the community. (B/L/D)
Day 5: Damai Beach Resort
Today we leave this river community behind, travel down river and return by road to Kuching. Check in at Damai Beach Resort for 3 nights. (B/L)

Day 8: Depart Kuching
Transfer from resort to Kuching airport. (B)
