Batang Ai Safari

  (3Days/2Nights)

 

 

Day 1:  Kuching- Batang Ai

Travel by car for 5 hours to Batang Ai Terminal and by native longboat for 1 hour cruising along the lake to reach Ukom Iban Longhouse. This Longhouses are set on iron posts and contain several family rooms. The community is ruled by a headman and a council of elders and most Ibans are simple cultivators of hill rice and pepper vines. In the evening enjoy a jungle feast and native dances. Overnight in the open communal area of the Longhouse. (L/D)

 

Day 2:  Batang Ai Longhouse

After a jungle breakfast, depart for a day of jungle trekking leading to a waterfall where bamboo picnic lunch will be served. Along the way learn about some of the medicinal plants, edible fruits, jungle ferns and the agricultural activities of the community. In the afternoon return to the Longhouse for dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)

 

Day 3:  Batang Ai- Kuching

After breakfast return transfer by longboat to the Batang Ai Terminal and by road to Kuching with lunch served along the way. (B/L)
